Living Water Baptist Church in Sardis, Ohio, celebrated the dedication of its new building on Sunday, June 22, 2014.  About 80 people attending the morning worship and more than 100 attended the afternoon dedication service.

Living Water Baptist Church began on Palm Sunday in 2000 upon the initiative of the Ellis and Langsdorf families who were driving into West Virginia to attend a Baptist church.  First Baptist Church of Woodsfield served as the mother church for the new church plant.  The congregation met for a short time in a local school building and then bought a house which was remodeled for use as a church.  A few months later the basement of that building was remodeled to accommodate the growing congregation.

In the fall of 2012, the church broke ground for the new building, and construction of the building itself began the following spring.  The congregation moved into the new facility on Easter Sunday 2014.  Thanks to the volunteers who worked on the building and the generous donations of the people, the congregation moved into its new facilities debt free.

Rev. Robert McCullar served as the first pastor of Living Water Baptist Church and gave the first $100 toward the new building.  McCullar ministered to the congregation for about a year.  Pastor Jim Green was then pastor of the church for the next seven years and led the church to move forward with the new building.  Pastor Green was named Pastor Emeritus for his service and honored on September 6th, 2015.

Pastor James Ng took up the position as head pastor on June 19th, 2015.  And the church has been excited about the direction he is bringing the church.  Living Water is working on a new building project.  We are expanding behind the church to add new areas children's functions and Youth and a new gathering place for prayer and fellowship.

We believe in the authority of scripture, the supremacy of Christ, and the importance of the church in preparing and sending God's people into a world that desperately needs His gospel.  Stop by to worship and fellowship with us, we have weekly services on Sunday and Wednesday as well as various groups that meet through the month.
